Excitement in July-AYC 2009 10th Anniversary (part 1)

19th July fly to Bali (my 38th flight so far...hoho!) Share a room with Ivan!! Is two single beds, what are you thinking....
I made souvenirs for all this time...ten sets of these in different colours because we got 40 singers this year.

20th July-25th July, music camp and performance in Bali. Made my best friend in AYC
张乐宇(Leo) from Shanghai, Bass, WYC member in 2003,2004. We were lost in Bali on 23rd(?), and took us 1 and half hour to walk back to our hotel, and it rains, so we both came back soaked. Since then we become quite close friend I think.....happy :)

So our days in Bali from 19th-24th is full of...
rehearsals!!! some people still wearing mask when singing.....?!?
and 1 concert in the churchThen, 25th is....FREE TIME!!!! at last we can go around in Bali on our own.....naturally, Leyu with me, and also Lee Shiak Yao (Tenor, Malaysia) and Emi N (Alto, Japan)

We went to..
Super Duper HOT SUN!!!we saw a lot of naked sun bathers....wooo....too bad we dare not take their pictures....

our lunch...then we proceed to Kampung Bali, handicraft shop, I bought instruments which made toad sound, thuder sound, bird sound and seruling (a kind of flute). Emi N was not feeling well, so Shiak Yao went back to Hotel with her while Leyu and I continue....Beach 66, we are coming!!

AYC2007 Part 2-Games in AYC!

Though we practise everyday from 9 to 9....but being youthful singers.....WE STILL MANAGE TO PLAY!!

The first game I have is just card game of 4 players... We play all kinds of card games in my room that night... after we went swimming....woooo, super cold...

so here are the players, from left is Anton, Fumiko, me, and Daniel....Daniel is the great big loser of that night....see he is holding the most cards... the one finish fastest is the winner...

OK, let's go to our 2nd game...not as boring as card game d....our 2nd game: Werewolves!

Let me explain the game first, maybe my readers can play it as well!

In the game of werewolves, there are 9 characters all together if we have enough players. Each charactor has different role.

The Villagers: This is the most boring character for me. Because villagers dun have any special power. They just ignorant and they only vote for people whom they think most probably is the werewolf, the person who get most vote is out of the game, and must reveal his/her true identity.

The Werewolves: So, they are the target of the whole game. Werewolves must coorperate to finish of all the good or ignorant villagers to win the game. Every night werewolves will transform and will kill a person each night. When the day time, nobody knows they are werewolves and they also will join the vote as the villagers do.

The Voyant(it means "light" in french): So we will have a few normal villagers and a few werewolves in a game. The Voyant is one of the good villagers who has special power. The Voyant got the ability to see the card of one person at a night, just one at a night. So the Voyant will know who are the werewolves if he/she survive long enough to see many cards.

The Witch: Witch is another good villager with special power. The which has a power to save and also a power to kill. In the whole game, the witch can only use each power once. The witch cannot see the card of the player when deciding to kill or save a person. So the witch simply got to be smart to guess which one is the werewolf.

The Little Girl: This little girl as the power to peek secretly when the werewolves transform. If the werewolves catch the little girl trying to peek, werewolves will immediately kill the little girl and not even the witch got the power to save the little girl.

The Hunter: The Hunter only can use his/her special power when dying..haha, if he has been vote out or he has been kill by the werewolves or witch or whatever... once he die, he can drag someone to die together with him. If he is smart, or lucky, he might pick the wolf.

The Cupid: Everybody know what is the job for cupid. So, cupid is only good for the first night of the game. Before everything start, cupid will choose the couple of the game, then the couple recognize each other's identity. Cupid doesn't know the true identity of everyone....just simply choose. If the couple is both good people, the game goes on like normal. If the couple is good people and wolf or both wolves, then they new job is to finish off everybody else in the game and be the ultimate winner. When one of the person dies, his/her couple will automatically die together as well.

The Thief: The Thief got the ability to change his card with the narator of the story, and then goes on like a normal game.

The Captian: This charactor only appear when the number of wolves and good people is the same. The players of the game will elect a captian and the vote of the captian is double. If so unlckily elect a wolf to become a captian.....oh, is just too bad....

So the narator of the game will tell the story, keep going day and night. Each night the wolves kill a person, The Voyant see a card, and the witch awake to decide whether to use his/her power. And during day time, we will found out who is dead, and we try to discuss who are the wolves and each day we vote out one person. It goes on and on until all the wolves are killed, or all the good people are killed.

So here is some pictures taken during our game...

Nathan our great great great narator is explaining the meaning of the card before distribute them to us. He is really funny guy, he makes the games become all lively. Here is our first batch of "werewolves" players....in Nathan's room, I had been DRAGGED from the practise room to come here and play. Is not that I am so rajin wanna stay there dun wan come and play, but Nathan never told me his intension and just chase me around and caught me, and then, I am here. See my weird expression....actually, we are not ready for photo shooting yet...(ps, one of us is our famous "Mr Bean" of AYC, do you know which one?)

So, the "villagers" and the "wolves" sitting in a circle and discuss actually who are the wolves....Actually, I am....hehehehehehehahahahahahahahaha....

after the game, no more villagers and werewolves, back to AYC members.... let's take a photo before our afternoon nap....the guy on my right side is the photographer earlier...and, one of the player Ivan Johan is missing, where is he?

here comes 2nd batch of people playing....we have got a bigger group, 19 players!! Promotion is good I can see...
See, we some more putting food in the middle....sambil makan sambil main... I am so dump never know the camera is shooting me...

Last round of the game, it is after the first performance... I dun have a picture of everybody, place setting is at Nathan's Lobby....so, first game at 2 floor, second game at the 3rd floor and last game at the lobby.....tres bien! Is townhouse DD...
I am explaining the card to Daniel, this Daniel miss the first two games, why I have the time to do the explaining? Because I am killed by the werewolves already... I was the witch is that round, after I use both my power, I am gone....

And this is Ega, who is our Mr BEAN....haha, he is the first to die.....it is because....HE IS TOO NOISY!!! playing with all the beer bottles....see, play 2 together some more....

So, next time ask this black version of Mr Bean to show you his Mr Bean dance....haha, actually after he is out of the game, he is even noisier, and after I died, I join his bottle playing as well, wahahahahaha.....

AYC2007 Part 1-Beverly Hills Town House!

This year AYC we stay in a very luxurious place... well, luxurious to me la... It is Beverly Hills Town House in Bandung, Indonesia. Each house is 3 storeys. 6 of us staying in one house. Here is how it looks like from the outside....

ok, the photo quality is not too good. See the balcony on the 2nd storey? It is mine!! Really cool, at night after bathing can listen to the music and sit there enjoy....but not for long...it is cold at night. So, let's get into the house....

Here is our kitchen.... all of us never use it....since we only see our house from 9pm(after rehearsal) to 8am (after wake up prepare to go for breakfast).... who will cook between that time?

Tadaaaa!! Here is my room! I took the bed on the right side....nice and cozy....

and our big mirror and basin in the room.....

So I am now opening the two doors beside the mirror.....

left side is the toilet and right side is the bathing area....the room so big....but bathroom so petite....haih.... you know behind the mirror is a very big space for people to change clothes while do acrobics back there...

So, coming out from my room.....

I look down the stairs....

it is very straight......argg.....I mean a bit like the stairs on the ferry....scary when going down...

then I look up....thinking of exploring the 3rd storey....(3 people sleep in the 2nd-storey room....and the other 3 on top....I was arranged to sleep in 2nd storey one, with Obi and Monique.....luckily....)

The top doesn't look very nice.... and the features are same in my room....so, lazy Hui Hui didn't go up to explore....back to room and unpack luggage....then SHOWER TIME! Ahhhhh........

Flying to Jakarta!

Tomorrow I will be flying to Jakarta to join my 3rd Asian Youth Choir music camp and performances. I am now very excited and not sleepy at all, though I am quite worry for some pieces that is very very difficult. I still didn't work out all pieces!

Actually, I planned to pack up all my things in this week end. Then, my friend who study in France one, came back for holidays and wanted to come to KL to visit me. So, I meet her up on friday night, and saturday morning we went for ice skating at sunway piramid... My friend pakar d la, because she always skate in France also. I am only 2nd time experience, but I am not bad as well, my friend said she is amazed....yeah! Hey, when I was a kid, I pakar roller skates one leh....though is a 2 by 2 roller one la...the old fashion one....

My 2nd time of ice skating is far more adventurous (in other word, scary) than my 1st time. There were altogether 4 accidents during skating....

Accident 1:

I went to skate with Zee Kin and his friend as well... his friend is a first timer, so I hold him once...and then, he fall backwards, pulling me to fall forward on him (we are facing each other), I din fall heavily, but, his leg accidentally kick on my left knee, and of course he is waering the skate....OUCH! now blue black d.... :-(

Accident 2:

When skating, there was a girl beginner on my left side....and she is seriously unbalance and I am sure I cannot hold her when I did tried.....she almost pull me down together, luckily I let go fast when I decided that I cannot help. (Learning from the 1st experience just now).... but then, it still cause me to be unbalance and start to sway to one side.... luckily there is another guy on my right side and I quickly hold him and he help me balance.... so, not falling this time......wheeeeeewww!!!

Accident 3:

Learning from the first 2 experience, I know that beginners=dangerous people....so I skate in the more inner circle, which are normally intermediate skaters. Who knows my bad luck hasn't over yet... A rather daring beginners skate very fast and try to be faster than me, when he try to cut the queue from my right side, he kicked my right leg from behind and of course I lost balance immediately, cause I never expected it... by luck, I still succeeded to stop safely.....

Accident 4:

This is the worst shock for me. By that time, I already can skate in a moderato speed and I am really enjoying it. Suddenly I heard a voice from behind shouting "Oh my god! Oh my god!", before I start to think what happened behind......BANG!! A guy langgar me from behind....I suppose he is an intermediate skater who just know how to speed up, but still cannot master how to slow down and avoid people....so, we both zooming in a presto or vivace speed to the front. Just imagine, I dun know a thing, and suddenly someone hit me, and I am rocketing to the front out of control.....naturally, I scream all the way to express fear and also to warn people in front of us to avoid us....then I change the direction to reduce the momentum, and I finally stop myself keep zooming forward....and, I let the guy alone zooming, of course it is much slower compare to the time when he just hit me.

So, skating is fun, only have one big spot of blue black which is other people's fault.....

UM choir is going for exam!

This coming Thursday, UM choir is going for the gold assessment Trinity choir examination. Just now we just had our final rehearsal, our teacher said we sure will pass, but we need to work for flying colours la....

Because I never went for any of the rehearsals since May, just now in the rehearsal I keep making mistakes because poor memory power after "rest" for so long. Even a very minor mistake that I made will cause the whole choir stop to correct me....my gosh, so ashame.... Cham liao, minor mistake also people can hear from my voice, must practise before exam...

Our choir did improve a lot compare before May... I was hoping they were in the pessoc Choralffest too.... should put up a real good show...won't loose to the Ping Hwa girl school... though we din have so many action like the train song they sang, but we all music students can learn up more difficult repertoire for chorus....plus, I am in there leh! cheh.....wahahaha....what you thought how many choir can have me? Humph! :p

So I hope I won't do any mistake in the exam....with my voice that will be pretty obvious....so, practise practise la...
